PP boxes from China to be hit with duties in US
Corrugated polypropylene boxes from China will be subject to duties when imported into the U.S.
The U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) has determined that a U.S. industry is materially injured by reason of imports of PP corrugated boxes from China, it announced in a Feb. 17 news release.
The U.S. Department of Commerce has determined the boxes are sold in the United States at less than fair value and subsidized by the government of China.
As a result of the Commission’s affirmative determinations, the Commerce department will issue an antidumping duty order and a countervailing duty order on imports of this product from China.
The amount of the duties wasn’t included in a news release.
